This methodology covers editorial comparisons of prop firms, trading software, data services, and other commercial products. Last updated 24 August 2026.
How products are selected
Products may be included because they are relevant to a reader question, represent a distinct product model, have enough official information to evaluate, or provide a useful comparison with an alternative. Inclusion is not an endorsement.
A commercial relationship may exist with a featured provider. It should be disclosed, and it does not change the criteria used to describe product rules or limitations.
What comparisons examine
Rule fit
Drawdown method, daily limits, consistency requirements, prohibited practices, and account termination conditions.
Total cost
Evaluation, activation, reset, subscription, platform, data, withdrawal, and other disclosed fees.
Payout conditions
Eligibility, timing, caps, splits, minimum amounts, review procedures, and conditions that can delay or deny payment.
Market access
Available instruments, execution model, session restrictions, news rules, holding rules, and platform availability.
Risk and legal clarity
Contracting entity, relevant regulator records where applicable, customer protections, dispute routes, and business-model risk.
Usability and evidence
Documentation quality, support resources, verifiable product information, and any clearly labelled firsthand testing.
Published rules versus firsthand testing
A page based on official documentation is a rules comparison, not a claim that every product was purchased or traded. Firsthand testing is stated only when it actually occurred, together with the relevant scope and limitations. The absence of that label means readers should not infer hands-on use.
Provider terms can change after publication. Readers should follow the cited official source and verify the final contract, price, legal entity, and eligibility rules before paying a fee or opening an account.
