What are cookies?
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, the types of cookies we use, the information they collect, and how to manage your cookie settings.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when a website loads in your browser. They help websites function, maintain security, remember preferences, and, where permitted, measure usage and advertising performance.
How do we use cookies?
Strategy Archive uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, maintain security, support authentication, and remember your consent preferences.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the website. We also use Google AdSense for advertising and, where permitted by your consent choices, ad personalization and performance measurement.
School articles and the Trading Calculator also include Adsterra banner, popunder, and Social Bar advertising. These tags are loaded only after CookieYes reports that you have accepted the Advertisement category. Popunder ads may open another browser window or tab after an interaction; Social Bar ads may appear as overlays. Neither is part of our educational content or calculator results.
CookieYes manages your cookie preferences. Where consent is required, analytics and advertising cookies are subject to your choices. You can accept or reject optional cookies, customize your preferences, and change or withdraw consent using the controls on this page or the footer.
Necessary storage remains available for services you request, such as signing in. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from reading our articles.
Types of cookies we use
The tables below list identified cookies; they are not an exhaustive list of cookies that every advertising campaign can set. Cookie lifetimes can be refreshed by subsequent visits or a new consent choice, and browsers may shorten them. A cookie lifetime is different from the retention period of data already sent to its provider.
Necessary
Necessary cookies support core features such as security, secure login, and remembering consent preferences.
| Cookie | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| FCCDCF | Google Funding Choices | 1 year 24 days | Stores consent preferences from Google's consent messages. This cookie may remain from our earlier Google consent setup; CookieYes manages current preferences. |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare / Supabase | 1 hour | Supports bot management and protects requests to the Supabase service used for accounts and site features. |
| cookieyes-* | CookieYes | 1 year | Remembers consent choices so the website can respect accepted and rejected cookie categories. |
| euconsent | CookieYes | Up to 730 days | Stores advertising consent information when the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework is enabled. The active CookieYes advertising-preferences panel specifies a maximum of 730 days. |
Analytics
With analytics consent, these cookies help us understand visits, traffic sources, page views, and how people use the website. Google Analytics is our only web analytics service.
| Cookie | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | 1 year 1 month 4 days | Assigns a random, pseudonymous visitor identifier to measure visits, sessions, and traffic sources. It does not directly contain your name or email address. |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics | 1 year 1 month 4 days | Stores session information used to measure page views and site usage. |
Advertisement
With the appropriate consent, advertising technologies help measure ads and, where enabled, personalize advertising.
| Cookie | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Google advertising technologies | 3 months | Supports advertising conversion measurement. Google Tag Manager can deploy the relevant Google tags; it is not a separate analytics provider. |
Google AdSense may use additional cookies depending on the ads served and your choices. Google provides a current advertising and measurement cookie list; CookieYes also shows the cookie categories and advertising vendors available for this site.
Adsterra tags are delivered from bauval.org and abscloud.org and may contact additional advertising partners. Cookies, identifiers, and retention periods can vary with the advertisement served; we do not assign an unverified, fixed lifetime to all Adsterra advertising cookies. See Adsterra's privacy policy for its data-handling and retention criteria. Its corporate website cookie list is not a verified inventory of the ads served here.
Other necessary storage
Our account service, Supabase, also uses browser local storage to maintain your authentication session. Signing out removes the active session from this browser. A small local record limits repeated sign-in, registration, or password-reset attempts. These technologies serve authentication and security rather than advertising or web analytics.
A first-party local-storage record named sa_adsterra_consent_revision remembers that an affirmative advertising choice was made after our Adsterra disclosure was introduced. It contains only a notice-version label, not a visitor identifier or calculator data. It is checked alongside CookieYes's current choice and cleared when advertising is rejected or withdrawn. It has no automatic expiry and can also be removed by clearing browser site data; an expired or missing CookieYes consent cannot authorize ads on its own.
Manage cookie preferences
You can modify your settings at any time by clicking this button or “Cookie settings” in the footer. CookieYes reopens the preference panel, where you can update your choices or withdraw optional consent.
Withdrawing consent changes future processing; it does not undo processing that already took place. You can also delete previously stored cookies through your browser. If CookieYes is blocked by a browser extension or network, the button will explain that the panel could not load.
If Adsterra page scripts have already started, withdrawing advertising consent reloads the page to stop their active listeners and overlays. Leaving an article or calculator with these scripts active also starts a fresh page document. Previously opened advertising tabs are not closed automatically.
Browsers offer controls to block or delete cookies. Blocking necessary storage may affect sign-in and other account features:
- Chrome: cookie settings and deletion
- Safari: cookie settings and deletion
- Firefox: cookie settings and deletion
- Microsoft Edge: cookie settings and deletion
If you use a different browser, please refer to its official support documentation.
